Epitomised by blue skies and great bands, Field Day is the best way to start the new year and 2013 promises to be no exception. Returning to the Domain in Sydney on New Years Day in 2013, Field Day has one hell of a line-up for all lovers of indie and dance, and the best bit is there are still more names to be announced!
Headlining is dancey indie act Two Door Cinema Club, who have just released their second full length album ‘Beacon’, and will be sure to play an awesome set of both new and old material. Repping it in the electronics department is a host of world class DJs including the one and only Mark Ronson. Also making an appearance is Hot Chip, who are joined by fellow indie party starters Django Django, who just supported Hot Chip through their tour of Europe. Add some fast paced rock by The Vaccines, the genre mixing sounds of Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and a healthy dose of pop by Swedish duo Icona Pop and you have a line-up that is sure to satisfy all the indie fans out there.
Pre-sale general release ($125) and VIP tickets ($192) go on sale October 22nd and you can register for the presale at http://www.fielddaynyd.com.au, to make sure you don’t miss out. Otherwise you can chance your hand in the general release tickets which go on sale October 25th.
With a host of local acts still to be announced, Field Day 2013 is shaping up as a pretty good start to the new year, and something you don’t want to miss out on.
