Gemini Downs are an eclectic indie pop outfit from Adelaide that have just released the super catchy tune ‘Jangle‘.
Christmas is nearing, and we are all in need of that season upbeat cheer. ‘Jangle’ delivers exactly that, with horns and a pretty upbeat tempo, this jolly listen is so cute it will have you bopping around and playing air saxophone in no time. The call and refrain is a little reminiscent to that of San Cisco’s Awkward, but done in such a fun and different manner nobody minds. Its a track that at its heart has a healthy serving of folk enthused with the loud energy that any good pop song needs. The vocals are fun and quirky and if the lyrics “All I want is a boy who’s cute and left home, So I can put him in the friend zone” don’t bring a smile to your face, I don’t know what will. There is a very good reason they are number one on the Triple J Unearthed charts.
With ‘Jangle’ and ‘From Darwin’ already receiving airplay, perhaps Gemini Downs are onto a good thing.
