The Paper Kites – St Clarity

Melbourne quintet, The Paper Kites have announced the release of a new dreamy indie folk new single called St Clarity.

St Clarity is the kind of song so tender and gentle on your ears that you don’t know whether to cry or scream out in celebration. Needless to say, it highlights how The Paper Kites have nailed the dreamy indie folk genre. Those ever soft and enjoyable harmonies are bound to have all listeners swooning, whilst the looping guitars and plodding soft driving percussion just drive the song along such that you cannot help but click repeat. Another gem by a band that is producing the goods, and whose album due for release later this year is sure to be a highlight of 2013.

Worlds End Press – To Send Our Love

worlds-end-press

Melbourne party starters Worlds End Press have released another great grooving tune called ‘To Send Our Love’.

Following on from last years super catchy Second Day Uptown, Worlds Ends Press latest release is equally catchy and just as enticing on the ears. Underpinned by this pulsating beat, and overlayed with cascading synths and soaring vocals, its hard not to get your vibe going to this tune. The pacey beat to ‘Send Our Love’ makes it a perfect road trip song, I can almost feel the wind in my hair now just listening to it. Worlds End Press are really making waves with their lowfi indie electro vibes, and we can’t wait until the next installment.

Lee’Mon – Albert, Adam and Eve

Aussie Playlist favourites Lee’Mon have released ‘Albert, Adam and Eve‘, their third single ahead of their debut album dropping later this year.

Having seen such as shift in sounds between ‘Genetics’ and debut ‘Albury’, we weren’t sure what to expect with ‘Albert, Adam and Eve’, except that history says its likely to be a top notch tune. As expected, our inital instincts were right as Lee’Mon’s latest number was a lot more bouncy pop than previous releases, and you guessed it, pretty sweet on the ears too.  The grooving bassline pumps this song along, with the soaring harmonies and dreamy vocals making ‘Albert, Adam and Eve’ a song you can chill to as well as get a groove on. I love the diversity Lee’Mon show in their music without deviating from a fantastic and eclectic sound, and we just cannot wait til their album finally drops!

Fairchild – Dancer

fairchild

Queenslanders Fairchild have released their second official single called ‘Dancer‘.

‘Dancer’ is a lovingly atmospheric indie rock track draped in  nostalgic vibes that just melt your ears from the very first listen. A little reminiscent of a  low-fi Foals number, ‘Dancer’ progressively builds in that same synth tinged style of indie rock, and just oozes with this impending sense of drama. Having received some special treatment being Produced & Mixed by Catherine Marks (Foals, Editors, The Killers), Fairchild are showing signs of being on the verge of breaking through with something pretty special. With an EP in the works, keep your eyes and ears pealed for the next installment from these guys.
