Coach Bombay – Cool Thing (Feat. Elle Young)

Coach BombayCoach Bombay is back, got a new friend on the vocals, and finally dropped a new single called ‘Cool Thing‘.

Several years ago Coach Bombay released the poptastic, electronic gem that was ‘Beamer’ (amongst others such as ‘POPS’), and nobody is more excited than us that he has returned to the music scene. And what a return it is, with ‘Cool Thing’, being a refreshing, upbeat indie electro number. I love the vocals by Elle Young, and just the way this song brings such happy, and fun vibes to the table. Appropriately titled, this is a cool thing!

Coach Bombay

At first glance, the name reminds you of Emilio Estevez’s character from the cult childhood movies, The Mighty Ducks. But a further inspection will reveal a closet musician whose indie electro tunes cannot help but leave you happy and calm (much like watching the Mighty Ducks).

Coming out of Melbourne, Coach Bombay is the brainchild of one man band Terry Mann, who writes, produces and performs all his tracks himself. Claiming his inspirations as ‘Sunshine, happiness and delusions of grandeur”, you quickly understand why its hard to hear a negative lyric or sound on any of his songs. Coach Bombay provides you with beautiful layered electric melodies and soft vocals that carries you away from city life to a place you would rather be. Although it is hard to find to define his best song,”Waterfall”, a particularly catchy number would have to be mine, as it is so infectious you cannot help but get you’re groove out.

Having released two EPs, received rave reviews from Triple J commentators (check out his unearthed page here) and a fair degree of airplay Coach Bombay has released his first feature length album “Pops”. Although not in the normal style, Mann released each track off his album available for purchase individually for those who couldn’t wait for the finished product.

Overall Coach Bombay cannot leave you but feeling happy, and is a great listen after a stressful day or if you just want to chill out with a couple of cold beverages on the veranda.
