Sydney rockers Shinobi have released their first single ‘Against the Brave’ from their self-funded album ‘Up Against The Brave’ for release later in the year.
In what is a classic Aussie rock track, ‘Against the Brave’ combines raging guitars, stomping drums with some harmonic ‘Oh Oh’s to create a track that really gets you pumping. The solid rock riffs from both the bass and electric guitars blend perfectly and I just love how Shinobi have layered this track to create such a climactic progression. Its Aussie Rock at its best and something that all too often gets ignored by the Js.
In a bonus fun fact, Shinobi’s front man is none other that ex-rugby league star Eric Grothe Jr., who plays alongside his brother Daniel and mates Darren Stapleton and Wayne Langfield. Don’t you hate people with multiple talents!
Shinobi have also just announced a couple of gigs to be played at Bald Faced Stag, Liechhardt (June 14th) and The Great Northern Hotel, Newcastle (June 15th). Have a listen to ‘Against the Brave’ below, and if you like what you hear be sure to check them out on unearthed or at their live shows.
